Barre3
Barre3’s approach to fitness rests on three pillars: exercise, nourish and connect. Their methods strive for optimal body balance and posture through strengthening and flexibility to get you feeling your best from the inside out. Using traditional ballet techniques, the small but effective movements taught in class will engage your core, fortify your balance and build long, lean muscles to get you in the best shape of your life. Jessica Walton is the manager and founding instructor at the South Buckhead location.

“We have a huge clientele with all ages and fitness levels,” she says, “but what really makes Barre3 stand out is our great sense of community. These studios are happy places where people can come and be themselves without dealing with a competitive atmosphere. It’s all about erasing comparison culture and enjoying the journey to a better you. The exercises are low-impact but highly effective, and are easily modified for injuries or other physical limitations. It’s the kindest way to improve your body.” Go to one of the three studio locations in Atlanta to take a class or subscribe online to follow video recorded sessions.

Core Power Yoga
At Core Power, yoga is taken to the next level. The majority of classes are taught in a heated room for a very important reason: the heat stretches muscle fibers and tendons to prevent injury while you exercise, while also increasing circulation, enhancing immune system function and encouraging tissue repair. Are you new to yoga? The core classes are divided by levels of difficulty to accommodate all participants. For added variety, lots of other choices are available. Boost your metabolism and tone your muscles with Yoga Sculpt, an upbeat class combining free weights with yoga sequencing to intensify each pose. Deepen your practice with Hot Power Fusion, a fun combo of the meditative, detoxifying qualities of hot yoga along with the intensity of power yoga.  Balance out the yoga with the CoreCardio Circuit, a blend of strength and high intensity interval training (HIIT). You can even stop in on your rest day for CoreRestore, a class designed to reboot and rebuild your body by holding deep postures that alleviate soreness and heal connective tissues and eventually enhance the quality of your sleep. The environment at Core Power encourages you to embrace the spirit of repetition and dedication so you can let go of expectations and heal your mind. The best part? You only need your body and your breath. And as a bonus, first time students receive a free week of classes.

Flywheel
This is your chance to race to the top. With a flagship studio in Buckhead and two other locations in the metro area, Flywheel is the ultimate cycle experience. Classes are 45 or 60 minutes and include racing, rhythm riding, and sprints to provide results in a competitive atmosphere. Choreographed sequences with playlists uplift the atmosphere and motivate to the max.  But what really sets this place apart from other cycle studios is its state of the art bike technology and the stadium style seating in its classes. Each bike has a tech pack which allows riders to view and adjust their resistance, RPMs and total energy exerted. They record real data in real time. The bikes then provide the option to communicate with large flat screens, called TorqBoards, at the front of the room to show rankings and stack up the competition. Then it’s up to you: compete with the others or just compete with yourself! After the class, the data tracking system stores stats in your private account so you can follow your progress and adjust your workouts accordingly. Some locations also offer body-sculpting FlyBarre, the perfect compliment to any cycle class. And to round out the perfect experience, Flywheel offers complimentary shoes, towels and lockers for guest use.

Orangetheory Fitness
Orange is the new fitness. This chain’s workout program incorporates techniques that focus on using your heart rate to spike your metabolism and increase your energy.  Sessions are split into intervals of strength and cardio to maximize metabolic burn while heart rate monitors track individual progress.  What really sets them apart, however, is the science of post-exercise oxygen consumption which backs up the “Orange Effect”: clients see visible toning as well as extra fat and calorie burn for up to 36 hours after a workout. Now that’s what we call major payoff. There are currently 23 studios in Georgia with 6 more opening soon. Call your nearest studio to book a complimentary first session!

Pure Barre
At Pure Barre, high intensity with low impact is the recipe for success. This studio offers a fitness method inspired by ballet, utilizing the classic barre technique combined with a blend of yoga and pilates to tone, tighten and burn fat. Isometric movements are the star of the show here, by using body resistance exercises to strengthen and shape the figure. But what really sets it apart from other Barre centers is the structure of its classes. Each one follows a consistent alternating pattern of working each muscle group to a state of fatigue, and then a series of deep stretches to get lean and avoid bulk.  As a result, the tapering and lifting effects on the body seem to literally defy gravity. You can also pick from a range of specialized intensive courses to target your problem area, whether it’s the abs, the seat or the thighs. With 20 locations in Georgia, you’ll have no excuse not to check it out!

The facility also features a virtual spin studio with projected digital terrains and TRX suspension training equipment for focused work on mobility and stability.

Beyond the classes, which are capped at a 20-person maximum, Lifestyle Specialists are there to help further your way to reaching your personal fitness goal. “We are a family,” says Karen Pagano, the marketing and community development lead. “We motivate, lift each other up and consider each other as accountability partners. It isn’t rare to walk into the locker room and hear the love and camaraderie that exudes from our members in confidence after they are dripping in sweat after an intense class with everyone cheering each other on.” It’s a great fit for everyone, from the new mom, to the beginner athlete, to the busy student and everything in between.
